“The Sports Economics Workshop at the iCare Conference has become a tradition”
The concluding events of the 11th International Conference on Applied Economics, iCare, included the workshop "Game On: Insights into Performance, Perception, and Strategy in Sports and Esports," organized by the International Laboratory of Intangible-driven Economy at HSE Perm, and the expert session "Researching Creative Industries in the Perm Region". The wide range of topics presented allowed for a better understanding of behavioral strategies not only in esports but also in other areas of the economy, while unique data provided different perspectives on economic issues.

From October 1 to 5, the 11th International Conference GSOM Economy & Management took place in St. Petersburg, organized by the Graduate School of Management at St. Petersburg University (GSOM SPbU). Researchers from the International Laboratory of Intangible-driven Economy presented their reports at the conference: Senior Researcher Marina Zavertiaeva, Junior Researcher Dmitry Kirpishchikov, and Research Assistant Daria Usmanova.
Workshop IDLab and ECOBAS: The Impact of Credit Supply on the Capital Structure of SMEs in Spain
On October 4, 2024, the IDLab laboratory of HSE Perm, in collaboration with the School of Economics and Business at the University of Vigo (ECOBAS), held a workshop dedicated to studying the impact of credit supply on the capital structure of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Spain. The main speaker of the event was Diego Ayres, who presented a report titled "The Impact of Credit Supply on the Capital Structure of SMEs in Spain" — a joint study with Ángel Barajas.
IDLab researchers participated in the International Conference on Econometrics and Business Analytics iCEBA-2024
The IV International Conference on Econometrics and Business Analytics iCEBA-2024 brought together participants from different countries, including Germany, Norway, Italy, Australia, France, Great Britain and Kazakhstan. The International Laboratory of Intangible-driven Economy of the National Research University Higher School of Economics - Perm was represented at the conference by Laboratory Head Petr Parshakov, Professor, Senior Researcher Mariia Molodchik and Research Assistant Egor Ivanov.
Strategic Decisions in Esports: Insights from the IDLab Workshop
On September 20, 2024, a research on strategic decisions of teams in cyber sports matches was presented at the IDLab workshop. The paper was introduced by Egor Ivanov, an IDLab research assistant, and coauthored by Maria Molodchik, Petr Parshakov, and Evgenia Shenkman. They studied how professional cybersports teams make decisions when choosing which cards to exclude from the game and which to select.
Advice for Young Scientists: Professor Barajas Discussed Career Opportunities in Science
On September 13, 2024, the IDLab laboratory held an online seminar titled "Building an Academic Career," which gathered around 30 participants. In addition to the laboratory staff, external listeners joined the seminar, and the online format allowed attendees not only from Perm but also from other cities, including Moscow.
Results of the Zombie Companies Research: Initial Findings
On September 13, 2023, at a workshop held by IDLAb under the Russian Science Foundation grant (No. 23-78-10149), research assistants Roman Makurin and Dmitry Volodin presented the results of their analysis of "zombie companies" and "gazelle companies" in small and medium-sized businesses in Russia from 2013 to 2023. The project was scientifically supervised by Senior Researcher Mariia Molodchik and Researcher Viktor Krakovich.

Head of the International Laboratory of Intangible-driven Economy at HSE – Perm, Petr Parshakov, presented applied projects of the laboratory at the XI International Forum on Technological Development 'Techprom-2024', including a new service for prospective students.
IDLab Workshop
September 6, IDLab hosted an academic seminar that brought together experts from the University of Vigo and lab staff to discuss a new study presented by lead researcher Elena Shakina. The study, co-authored with Angel Barajas and Natalia Volkova, was titled “Women and Men in Tech: Jobseeker's Contributions to Gender Wage Gap” and focused on the role of jobseekers in forming the gender wage gap in the IT sector.
The first IDLab workshop of the new academic year took place
On August 30, 2024, IDLab hosted the first workshop of the new academic year, which, as usual, was held in an online format. The event was attended by about 25 people, including lab staff and other attendees.
