The study investigates the impact of CEO personal characteristics and entrepreneurial orientation on digitalization level of 273 Russian SMEs. The findings revealed, that CEO personal traits are important for SME digitalization. Motivational focus on innovative proactiveness and risk taking has positive effect on digitalization level of SMEs. Besides, the presence of digital strategy and employee trainings have significant impact on digitalization level of SMEs.
