Pavel Milei, Nadezhda Votintseva & Angel Barajas presented the study "Automated identification and taxonomy of business models".

The study presented at the IDLab workshop proposes and validates empirically a framework for automated identification of business models. Pavel Milei, Nadezhda Votintseva and Angel Barajas use content analysis to identify business models of 363 US public companies based on their annual reports. The results are presented as the magnitude of business model elements within each building block. In addition, the authors run a cluster analysis and propose a taxonomy of business models, which reflects the main pillars of a business model.
