The research results of IDLab members - Petr Parshakov and Marina Zavertyaeva, as well as Ksenia Baydina (a graduate of the HSE University-Perm and the University of Cologne) were taken into account when discussing the potential format of the Russian Football Premier League https://www.rfs.ru/news/214254. The study "Uncertainty of Outcome and Attendance: Evidence from Russian Football" was published in 2021 in the scientific journal International Journal of Sport Finance. It is devoted to the analysis of the uncertainty of oucome hypothesis, widely known in sports economics, which states that sports fans prefer the uncertainty of the result (of a game / match). The study is based on the data on the attendance of matches of Russian football clubs. The ambiguity of the results of previous studies conducted on the data of sports leagues of other countries indicates significant differences in the preferences of fans, therefore, when making decisions regarding the RPL, it is important to use empirical results specifically for the Russian league.
