IDLab ONLINE Research Workshop
Petr Parshakov, Deputy Head of IDLab, presented a study on the impact of expectations when changing a job on individual productivity using data on football players
Petr Parshakov presented the study "Job Change And Productivity: The Effect Of High Performance Expectations", co-authored with IDLab members - Dennis Coates, Sofia Paklina, and Elena Shakina.
People who face high expectations may suffer from them. From the one hand, employees who face high expectations might put more effort into completing a task, and, therefore, demonstrate better performance. From the other hand, high expectations put pressure. In our study we test the effect of high performance expectations on productivity upon job change. We use RDD applied to football data.
