On Friday, March 30, the IDLab workshop on the economics of sports was held.

Football Club Brand Determinants

At the workshop, Julia Naydenova talked about the paper “Brand Determinants in European Football". This article is co-authored by Dennis Coates (UMBC), Arne Federsen (Southern Denmark University) and Petr Parshakov (HSE).

The paper discusses the factors affecting the brand of a football team using data from 9 European leagues as an example. The history of team championships has become a major factor for each of the leagues and the sample as a whole.
