Research staff and assistants of IDLab participated in the III Student Scientific and Practical Conference named after L.L. Lyubimov at HSE
On November 13, 2024, the III inter-faculty student scientific and practical conference named after L.L. Lyubimov took place at HSE – Perm. The International Laboratory of Intangible-driven Economy (IDLab) actively participated in the conference. Laboratory staff served on the jury, while assistants presented their research findings and received valuable feedback.
The III inter-faculty student scientific and practical conference named after L.L. Lyubimov became an important event for young researchers, attracting 99 participants who presented 87 reports across 13 thematic sections. Among the topics discussed were bioethics, digital transformation, business management, the history of the Perm region, and much more.
The International Laboratory of Intangible-driven Economy (IDLab) actively participated in the conference. Laboratory staff served on the jury, while assistants presented their research findings and received valuable feedback.
Section 6. Modern Companies: Effectiveness, Prospects, Development Trends
The jury of the section included:
• Dmitry Kirpishnikov, Junior Researcher at IDLab;
• Tatyana Bukina (Moderator), Head of the Department of Economics and Finance;
• Svetlana Belykh, Associate Professor in the Department of Economics and Finance.
Among the reports in the section:
- Dmitry Volodin and Roman Makurin presented a study on the phenomenon of zombie firms in Russian small and medium-sized enterprises. The work was carried out within the framework of a Russian Science Foundation grant (No. 23-78-10149). The researchers developed an indicator to assess the causes and scale of "zombification" of companies. "The conference named after L.L. Lyubimov was a pleasant and useful experience for us. The feedback received will help us explore the phenomenon of zombie firms more deeply and qualitatively," noted Roman Makurin.
- Anastasia Kireecheva examined the impact of human capital intensification on the sustainability of SMEs.
- Daria Usmanova studied the influence of CEO characteristics on strategic behavior regarding capital structure.
Section 7. Economic Issues of Production and Consumption
The jury of the section included leading staff from IDLab:
• Maria Molodchik (Moderator), Senior Researcher, Professor in the Department of Economics and Finance;
• Marina Zavertiaeva, Senior Researcher;
• luliia Naidenova, Deputy Head of the Laboratory.
Laboratory assistant Mikhail Usanin presented a paper dedicated to tournament theory and modeling effort distribution considering synergetic effects. For Mikhail, this was his first public presentation on the topic, where he received constructive comments from the jury and discussion participants.
Participation in the conference provided young researchers with valuable experience, allowing them to showcase their professional skills and discuss their work results with experts. IDLab will continue to support the development of research competencies among students and assistants, encouraging their participation in scientific events.
