Modern technologies provide customers with a broad choice among various kinds of content. People can choose the most interesting content in the optimal format. Whereas media research generally finds a positive association between videos length, research on social trends suggest that new generations used to receiving information fast and thus prefer shorter formats. In the current study, the authors analyze the relationship between video length and video popularity on YouTube for the most viewed videos and its dynamics over time.
