IDLab Workshop

Marina Zavertyaeva presented the study "Measuring of the economic value added of human capital"

IDLab Workshop

Within the framework of this study, a methodology for measuring the return on human resources of a company is proposed, based on the principles of economic value added and the use of open data. Empirical testing of the proposed tools on the data of Russian companies showed that investing in human capital above the industry average benchmark ("reinvestment") has a positive effect on economic profit and market value added of Russian companies. In addition, a cluster of companies focused on investing in human resources was identified. At the same time, a significant part of this cluster (74%) is represented by companies in the field of trade.
