IDLab members presented their research at the 8th Western Football and Finance Conference

Iuliia Naidenova and Petr Parshakov took part in the 8th Western Football and Finance Conference

On May 26-28, the 8th Western Football and Finance Conference took place, organized by the Universities of Reading and Paderborn. IDLab employees presented the results of their research conducted in the field of sports economics:'

• Iuliia Naidenova, Petr Parshakov and and Dmitry Kirpishchikov: “Wisdom of crowds vs. managers: Evidence from Major LeagueSoccer”
• Petr Parshakov, Sofia Paklina, Dennis Coates and Dmitri Dagaev: “Compatriot bias in football: Are non-experts subjective?”

The conference was held in a hybrid format, where some of the participants attended online, and some were based at the University of Reading (UK).
