ID Lab members published the study on the impact of Economic Freedom in the region on the companies performance in Russia

ID Lab members Dennis Coates and Anna Bykova published the research on the impact of Economic Freedom of Russian regions on companies performance in one of the leading international journals. Professor Coates is also one of the authors who adapted and calculated the Index of Economic Freedom for the regions of Russian Federation.

The researchers of ID Lab (HSE University) Dennis Coates and Anna Bykova published their results of a study "Firm performance and regional economic freedom: the case of Russia" in the journal Post Soviet Affairs. This journal is one of the top journals on transitional economies.
It is the first study, which uses the Index of Economic Freedom for Russian Regions developed by Prof. Coates togher with Irina Mirkina and Vivek Moorthy. On the basis of statistical analysis, the study concludes the positive impact of the level of state non-interference on the performance of Russian companies, especially on their investment attractiveness.
