Research workshop on Sports Economics
On Friday, March 2, Ksenia Baidina, a graduate of the Higher School of Economics, gave a talk at the IDLab research workshop on sports economics
Ksenia Baidina, who took part in the work of the Laboratory from the first year, and now continuing her studies at the University of Cologne, made a presentation of the work, written in collaboration with Peter Parshakov.
The paper considers the relationship between the uncertainty of the outcome of the match and the attendance of stadiums on data on Russian teams. One of the main conclusions of the study was that attendance is more influenced by the fact that the “top” team arrived in the city than the uncertainty of the outcome of the match.
