Interim Meeting Held on the Project on the Role of Intellectual Resources in Company Internationalization

On July 3, 2026, an interim meeting was held to review the results of the first half of the second year of the project "Internationalization of Companies from Developing Countries: The Role of Intellectual Resources in Response to Exogenous Shocks". The project is carried out within the framework of the HSE University "International Academic cooperation" grant competition. The project leader is Maria Molodchik, Professor at HSE University – Perm.

Interim Meeting Held on the Project on the Role of Intellectual Resources in Company Internationalization

During the meeting, interim results of the work were presented, and progress on various research tracks of the project was discussed. One of the key outcomes was the preparation of a database of internationalization indicators for Russian companies based on open data. The database, which is linked to the development of an internationalization index for Russian companies, is currently undergoing the formal registration process as an intellectual property asset. More details on the methodology and potential applications of the index can be found in a previously published article on the laboratory's website.

The meeting also addressed the fulfillment of the project's publication targets. A paper co-authored by project team members — D.V. Kashin, M.A. Molodchik, S.V. Suslova, and D.R. Tillashaykhov, titled "The Impact of Intellectual Capital on Exports in Russian Regions" — has been accepted for publication in the Journal of the New Economic Association.

In the first half of 2026, project participants delivered 7 presentations at Russian and international academic events, including an international scientific-practical conference in Turkmenistan, the 55th EBES Conference in Hungary, the XIII Scientific Conference "Neighbors in Science," the "Smart Business and Applied Science" forum at ITMO University, and the XII Euro-Asian Symposium on Economic Theory (EASET-2026) in Yekaterinburg.

An important component of international cooperation within the project has been the joint research seminars between the International Laboratory of Intangible-driven Economy (IDLab) and Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST). In the first half of 2026, three such seminars were held, during which participants presented research findings and discussed future directions for collaborative work.

In the second half of 2026, the team will continue its work on the project's research tracks, the development of international academic cooperation, and the preparation of scientific publications.
